Scaffold Yard Foreman

Qualifications and Detail about the Position

Summary:

Yard Foreman is responsible for supervising and directing yard personnel to provide the highest quality scaffold availability. This position is responsible for prepping/staging/loading scaffolding for delivery, receiving/unloading scaffolding returning to the yard, directing the check-in process, conducting inventories, organization/efficiency of the yard, identifying scaffolding requiring repairs and scrapping, and ensure light repairs are completed. This person is responsible to dual verify that all scaffolding and scaffold components leaving the yard is correct and in jobsite ready condition.

• To assist the Yard Manager in the day-to-day yard activities and communication of inventory levels.

• Maintain a well-organized, safe working environment and ensure housekeeping activities in the yard are being maintained.

• Responsible for maintaining the material in an organized yard (separation of material requiring disposal, repair, charges to customer, and rent ready).

• Responsible for the management of yard personnel.

• Update yard logs (Shipments, Returns, Back Log).

• Participate in the tracking of Consignment Inventory.

• Inventory and order required office supplies, PPE and small tools.

• Dual Verify that the material loaded for delivery is correct, photos taken and paperwork accurate.

• Ensure proper receipt of all incoming material including to but not limited to inspection of the condition of the material and the completion of all required paperwork.

• Ensure pre-use inspection of Forklifts are completed and notify Yard Manager of any issues requiring servicing.

• Monitor required preventative maintenance for Forklifts.

• Hold daily morning meetings with yard personnel to discuss priorities, objectives and safety compliance issues or concerns.

• Ensure any training requirements for yard personnel is identified and completed within the time allowed.

• Provide input that would assist in the continued improvement of processes and procedures.

• Perform other activities as directed by management.

 

Other information:

Working Conditions:

• 50/50 split of office based and outdoor responsibilities.

• Working during inclement weather.

• Comfortable working in a hands-on-environment.

• Lifting or moving up to 50 pounds occasionally, and up to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

• PPE to be worn majority of time due to in/out nature of position.

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.

• Supervisory experience.

• Service oriented mentality with a team approach guidance

• Ability to operate forklifts to move material, load, and unload trucks.

• Self-motivated and time sensitive drive

Education & Experience:

• 3-5 years’ experience in industry related field

• Highschool diploma
