Qualifications and Detail about the Position

 

Summary:

This position is responsible for the racking and stacking of scaffold equipment for both stocking and shipment to customers / work sites. This position conducts equipment inspections, adheres to all safety standards and follows all company & regulatory procedures for scaffold equipment management.

 

Responsibilities:
Documentation Management:
  • Oversee the accuracy and maintenance of all operational documentation, including inventory records, shipping tickets, and customer requisitions.
  • Ensure compliance with requirements and internal standards for documentation management, storage, picture records.
Inventory Management:
  • Check stock levels to ensure availability of scaffolding materials needed to fulfill customer orders.
  • Coordinate with yard area foreman to replenish stock as needed, optimizing inventory management processes.
  • Conduct periodic inventory counts and revise for discrepancies to maintain accurate inventory records and documentation.

 

Quality Control:
  • Implement and maintain high-quality standards for all scaffolding materials in stock.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure the condition and safety of scaffolding materials, taking corrective actions, as necessary.
Logistics and Distribution:
  • Coordinate logistics and distribution activities within the scaffolding yard to ensure timely delivery of materials to customers.
  • Work closely with shipping and receiving teams to facilitate efficient handling of inbound and outbound shipments.

 

Operational Efficiency:
  • Collaborate with the Yard Manager to optimize operational processes, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement strategies to enhance overall operational effectiveness.

 

People Management:
  • Lead and manage the team of yard personnel responsible for inspections, logistics, and quality control.
  • Provide guidance, training, coaching, and support to staff to ensure they perform their duties effectively and efficiently.
Communication between upper management:
  • Respond for inquiries and resolve issues related to orders, deliveries, and product quality
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers and address their needs in a timely and professional manner when picking up materials.

 

Other information:
Working Conditions:
  • Working conditions include both outdoor and indoor, field, yard and shop locations
  • Working during inclement weather
  • Working on uneven ground and near various types of equipment in all types of weather
  • Exposure to the outdoors, extreme weather conditions and dirt
  • Utilization of Personal Protective Equipment will be provided and is necessary

 

Heavy Work Included:
  • Lifting or moving up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Use hands/fingers to handle or feel (operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, position)
  • Ability to move distances within and between warehouses/offices/field locations
  • Ability to mount and dismount a forklift
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, squat or (position self, move)
  • Pushing or pulling

  • Repetitive motion

 

Skills & Abilities:
  • Comfortable working in a hands‐on environment
  • High energy level, a strong sense of ethics, discretion, and adherence to process

 

Education & Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
