Scaffold Yard Laborer

Qualifications and Detail about the Position

Summary:

The Scaffold Yard Laborer is responsible for the racking and stacking of scaffold equipment for both stocking and shipment to customers / work sites. This position conducts equipment inspections, adheres to all safety standards and follows all company / regulatory procedures for scaffold equipment management. Works under close supervision.

• Inspect scaffold equipment upon receipt, following procedures for removal of damaged/broken equipment

• Daily compliance with all safety practices

• Load/unload scaffold equipment ensuring accurate counts

• Rack and stack scaffold equipment following company and safety policies and procedures

• Stock equipment following inventory procedures

• Perform minor repairs / preventative maintenance on scaffold clamps, brackets and braces

• Complete all paperwork associated with the receipt and shipment of scaffold equipment

Working Conditions:

• Working conditions include outdoor and indoor field, yard and shop locations

• Working during inclement weather

• Working on uneven ground and near various types of equipment in all types of weather.

• Working underneath equipment. Exposure to the outdoors, extreme weather conditions, dirt, and fumes

• Utilization of Personal Protective Equipment is necessary

• Heavy work: Lifting or moving up to 50 pounds occasionally, and up to 25 pounds of force constantly to move objects

• Use hands/fingers to handle or feel (operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, position)

• Ability to move distances within and between warehouses/offices/field locations

• Climb (stairs/ladders) or balance (ascend/descend, work atop, traverse)

• Ability to mount and dismount forklift and truck

• Stoop, kneel, crouch, squat or crawl (position self, move)

• Pushing or pulling

• Reaching

• Repetitive motion

Education & Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Experience driving a forklift
